An Ercol classic, well-made and structurally sound that will last a lifetime. Part of the Windsor Range, the evergreen chair has seat and back cushions, a tall double bow back, webbed seat and curved arms.
The 478 armchair is a good height, has a deep seat, with a tall upright back. Sit down, relax and feel supported. Want to put your feet up? Check out the 205 FOOTSTOOL.
Wood - desirable blonde in colour, made of English beech, with an oil or wax finish.
Webbing - newly strung with vintage (unused) webbing. We use the traditional Ercol loop and peg method, no staples.
Cushion Covers - hand made to order. High quality material, expertly made from vintage Welsh wool blankets. All covers are removable with a zip opening. Add an extra set for £275 HERE.
Fabric - densely woven pure Welsh WOOL, we use vintage blankets as fabric. Natural and sustainable with very little environmental impact. Wool is inherently flame resistant and offers a greater level of fire safety than other fibres.
Wash Care - machine washable, on a wool wash at 30 degrees.
Cushion Foam - new foam pads, all our foam conforms to fire regulations.
Colours - rich, deep traditional colours. As with all things collectable, some are rarer than others. Please let us know your colour pallet and we will send you images of our current options to suit.
Dimensions - widest point, at arms 74cm. Height 103cm. Overall depth (seat to back) 84cm. Seat height 43cm. Arm height 66cm.
Period - produced from 1957 - still being produced today.
Origin - designed and made at Ercol, High Wycombe U.K.
Restored - we restore (the wood) and make (the covers) each piece to order, in our studios. Timeframe is currently around 8-10 weeks.
