An Ercol classic, well-made and structurally sound that will last a lifetime. Part of the Windsor Range, the grandfather rocking chair has seat and back cushions, round spinal back (the 316 has a centre back carving), solid wood seat and classic curved arms.
Wood - desirable blonde colour, made of English beech with a wax or oil finish.
Seat - oyster shaped solid Elm.
Cushion Covers - hand made to order. High quality material, hand-dyed then expertly made. All covers are removable with a zip opening. Add an extra plain set for £150 HERE.
Fabric - densely woven pure WOOL, we use vintage blankets as fabric. Natural and sustainable with very little environmental impact. Wool is inherently flame resistant and offers a greater level of fire safety than other fibres.
Wash Care - machine washable, on a wool wash at 30 degrees.
Cushion Foam - new foam pads, all our foam conforms to fire regulations.
Colours - rich, deep colours dyed by hand. Some are a solid block colour, others have a subtle colour variation, a mottled effect. As we hand-dye vintage material, each piece is unique. Dying vintage wool blanket carries its own character, creating beautiful unique and natural variations in colour that truly make every piece a one of kind. Colours may vary and look different on a digital screen.
Dimensions - 74cm wide x 79cm length x 94cm high. Seat height 32cm, width - 53cm, depth 52cm (without cushions).
Period - produced from 1955 - 1995.
Origin - designed and made at Ercol, High Wycombe U.K.
Restored - we restore (the wood) and make (the covers) each piece to order, in our studios. Timeframe is currently around 8-10 weeks.
