Melin Tregwynt 'Forest' Welsh Tapestry - Ercol 747 Blonde Lounge Chair

Upholstered using Melin Tregwynt 'Forest' Welsh tapestry fabric. The warmth and breathability of wool coupled with a vibrant reversible design makes this pattern a striking addition to any room. We've recently begun working with this beautiful and soft Welsh fabric, chosen for its character and charm. While it hasn’t yet undergone formal rub testing, it's a wonderful option for domestic use. Due to its delicate nature, we don't recommend it for commercial settings where heavy wear is expected.

A mid century modern design classic, well-made and structurally sound that will last a lifetime. Part of the Modular Range, Ercol's more Modernist 1970's aesthetic. This style has seat and back cushions, a slatted back, webbed seat, and is armless!

Wood - desirable blonde in colour, made of English elm or beech, with a natural hand-oiled matt finish. We use Cornish Danish oil, this is natural oil, low in toxicity.

Webbing - newly strung with vintage (unused) webbing. We use the traditional Ercol loop and peg method, no staples.

Cushion Covers - removable with a zip opening. Made from densely woven vintage wool. 100% wool, totally natural and vintage meaning no environmental impact. Machine washable, on a wool wash at 30 degrees. 

Cushion Covers - 100% Vintage wool. Pattern - Welsh tapestry, plain - back. 

Cushion Foam - original foam cushions. We do not replace the foam, unless absolutely necessary. All our foam conforms to fire regulations. New foam increases the cost price, which we would have to pass on. Then there is the question of how to dispose of the old foam, landfill being the only option.

Colour - blonde wood with pink/purple/black cushions - one side welsh tapestry, the other plain black.

Dimensions - length 70cm, width 60cm, height 70cm, seat depth 60cm.

Period - first introduced in the late 1960's, popular in the 1970's.
